Artist’s Bio:
Originally from South Korea, Jahyun Bae is a painter and storyteller whose artistic journey has taken her from New York to California’s Bay Area. Deeply inspired by nature and the harmony between Eastern and Western cultures, her work reflects a lifelong pursuit of transformation, hope, and inner peace.
With a Master’s degree in Educational Psychology, Jahyun began her career as a math teacher, but her relocation to New York marked a profound turning point , one that awakened her passion for art and its power to heal and transform.
Her paintings capture the emotional landscapes of life through nature ,the glowing moon, whispering trees, fluttering butterflies, and blooming flowers , each symbolizing dreams, freedom, and the beauty of becoming. Recently, her focus has expanded to the ocean, which she sees as a metaphor for life itself: ever-changing, calm yet powerful, holding both reflection and depth.
Using materials such as acrylics, oil pastels, and modeling paste, Jahyun builds rich layers of texture that evoke both imagination and emotion. Her recurring butterfly motif embodies transformation and the courage to embrace change.
Alongside her fine art, Jahyun is developing a children’s picture book inspired by the wonder of nature and the gentle magic of everyday life. Through her work, she hopes to inspire others to dream freely, find joy in their own journey, and discover harmony within themselves and the world around them.
