Artist’s Bio:
Mary Bailey has a BA from Brown University and an MFA in Writing from Vermont College of Fine Arts. She has exhibited her sculpture at the United Nations, the Lever House, Governors Island and Fordham University in NYC, and has had one-person shows at the Cast Iron Gallery in NYC, Housatonic Museum of Art in Bridgeport, CT; Gallery of Contemporary Art at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT; Silvermine Art Center in New Canaan, CT and Ann Jaffe Gallery in Miami, FL. She has been a featured artist in shows at the Hammond Museum in North Salem, NY, Flinn Gallery, Greenwich, CT; Lyman Allyn Museum, New London, CT; VACI Galleries in Chautauqua, NY; and George Billis Gallery in Fairfield, CT. Her work is in the collection of MIT List Visual Arts Center, Cambridge, MA; The New School for Social Research, NYC; and the Zurich Reinsurance Center Inc., NYC, as well as many private collections. She has received grants from the New England Foundation for the Arts and the Connecticut Commission of the Arts. Bailey is also a writer and has published eleven short stories, and in 2024, one of her stories was nominated for a Pushcart Prize. She has lived in Redding, CT since 1992.
