Artist Bio for Christina Calzolari
Christina Calzolari is a visual artist specializing in monotype printmaking, a medium that bridges spontaneity and precision. Her work explores the tension between control and chance, using layered textures, gestural marks, and ephemeral impressions to evoke memory, emotion, and transformation. Each print is a singular, unrepeatable moment—an echo of movement captured in ink.
Christina’s practice is rooted in process and experimentation. She draws inspiration from natural forms, personal narratives, and the interplay of light and shadow. Her prints often blur the line between abstraction and figuration, inviting viewers to find their own meaning in the ambiguity.
Based in Redding, CT, Christina enjoys pushing the boundaries of printmaking through both traditional and contemporary techniques.
