Description
53rd Annual Mark Twain Library Art Show
Artist’s Bio:
Nature is my subject matter, whether I am painting a landscape, still life, or
floral. I prefer painting from life, but find that my best work combines close observation, emotion, imagination, and visual memory. I work in the studio or en plein air, and take inspiration from the many parks, land preserves, and farms of the Hudson Valley and nearby Connecticut. My primary medium is pastel, but I also work in oils, watercolors, acrylics, and printmaking.
My paintings have been shown at the National Arts Club in NYC, the Gallery at Muscoot, Art Walk Ridgefield, Kent Art Association, the Ridgefield Guild of Artists, Art Show Bedford, the Putnam Arts Council, WPA Gallery at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation, All4Art Gallery in Pawling, Lyme Art Association, the Mark Twain Library in Redding, the Wilton Library, the Fairfield Library, and other local venues.
I am a member of the Pastel Society of America, the Catharine Lorillard
Wolfe Art Club, the Connecticut Pastel Society, the Central Massachusetts
Pastel Society, the Ridgefield Guild of Artists, the Weir Farm Artists
Collective, and the Lower Hudson Valley Plein Air Painters.
