Artist’s Bio:
Mally DeSomma’s life as an artist spans over thirty-five years, always searching for an interesting subject to capture on canvas. She considers herself lucky to be able to do the jobs she loves the most; to paint and to teach.
Through years of college courses, private instruction, and numerous workshops with many renowned artists, she has enjoyed and reaped many rewards throughout her career as an artist. For over twenty five years Mally has taught pastels, acrylics, and oils to adults and children at Artsplace, a private art school in Cheshire, Connecticut. She is a Signature member of the prestigious Pastel Society of America, and Allied Artists in New York City, and also a member of the Connecticut Pastel Society. Winner of many awards throughout the years in juried art shows, Mally had won a top award at the 2009 national “Pastel Society of America” show in New York City. The award winning painting was chosen to be displayed January through March 2010 at The Butler Institute Museum in Ohio and the painting was also featured in The Art Collector Magazine in the October issue. Then in 2020 a painting “From Here to Eternity,” has been chosen to be in the Allied Artists of America online Associate juried show on display through 2021.
