Artist’s Bio:
Caroline H. Duggan is a mixed media artist and professional art educator. After completing her degree at Pratt and traveling the world collecting landscape images she is now an artist and art educator in Redding, Connecticut. As an award winning watercolor painter, Caroline begins all of her work with watercolor. Painting primarily in watercolor and oils, she creates images of landscapes that tap into a sense of collective memory. Caroline’s work offers the viewer a look into the painting process by exposing layers of paint absorbed or layered above the surface of the image. Prior to her career as an educator Caroline was a textile designer for home furnishings fabric. This experience with textiles inspired her to explore creating with fiber. Her fiber works bridge a gap between landscape painting and weaving with felted elements woven throughout the image. Caroline exhibits her work locally, on the west coast and in Canada.
