Description
53rd Annual Mark Twain Library Art Show
Artist’s Bio:
Ellen is a self-taught local artist who works primarily with acrylic paints, oil pastels and other mixed media to create abstract pieces. Her influences are mid-century modern design combined with the depth of peeling walls providing hints to what lies underneath. Utilizing a harmonious palette, she applies, removes, and carves into the paint creating angular and geometric shapes which evolve into spatial conformity. Ellen’s artwork has been recognized by numerous juried shows both locally and regionally. Willing to take risks through experimentation and new techniques is essential to her process. She has effectively and enthusiastically been able to work with acrylic, oil pastels, resin,
glass, pastes, and other mixed media that transform into unique, one-of-a-kind artworks. It is here that she strives to create pieces through the exploration of depth and texture. Ellen resides in Westport, Connecticut. You can find Ellen on her website at WWW.ELLENEHLIART.COM.
