Jo-Ann Gilbanks Cordes

Jo-Ann Gilbanks Cordes is a primarily self-taught artist with an avid interest in art since an early age. She worked as a flight attendant for Pan American World Airlines, as an aerial photographer, and as an educator.
Jo-Ann has taken classes at the Washington Art Association, Silvermine Art School, Rowayton Art Center and the Wooster School and photography classes from Harold Feinstein in NYC. She won first place in Pan American’s International Photography Contest depicting the accelerated transition of night to day in world travel.
Jo-Ann says that art has always been an essential part of her life and continues to be integral to how she relates to the world around her. She has exhibited in juried shows at the Mark Twain Library, Roxbury Library, Bethel Library (solo show), Mamaroneck Artists Guild, and the Rowayton Arts Center. She has won awards for her mixed media abstracts and for her photography.
Her current work employs: oils, acrylic, watercolor, ink, color pencil, and oil pastel .
