Artist’s Bio:
Artist Statement:
Painting the landscape of the human form, whether as a figurative narrative or portrait, is a passion that inspires and energizes me most. While I approach any painting, be it still life or landscape, with the intention of finding the life in that painting, it is finding the life in a figurative or portrait composition that inspires me most. Finding and communicating a personality behind a likeness of someone is a task that is technically and spiritually meaningful.
I have studied in the fine art department of Ohio State University and at the Columbus School of Art and Design. I also have studied under the tutelage of the classically trained painter, Jesus Emmanuel Villarreal, and taken workshops with wonderful and talented artists like CW Mundy, Michelle Dunaway, Quang Ho and others.
