53rd Annual Mark Twain Library Art Show
Artist’s Bio:
The artwork I produce is eclectic and I use any material that inspires me, often letting that be my guide. Sometimes I am a ceramicist or printmaker, a sculptor or a painter. My art moves me through these mediums and beyond them. I enjoy making artwork that brings a smile to the viewers face. One of my favorite devices is to use ‘play on words’ in my work. Sometimes I want to capture the fleeting moment of the mist in the forest or veils of it rising from water. My artworks are ‘little celebrations’ of my ‘one wild and wonderful life’.
My major areas have included petite portraits in porcelain nestles in clam, oyster and other shells. These are fanciful collages on the theme of ‘happy as a clam” meant to bring a smile to the viewer. I use the technique of monoprints and dry point etching to explore a variety of subjects. These include series on hands, figures, animals and most recently the singular cloud.
