Artist’s Bio:

I have been painting and drawing for most of my life.

I took classes in high school and college, although I majored in English with a BA from Pace College (University, now).

My first and most influential teacher was Elaine Urbain from Tarrytown, New York, with whom I studied in small groups for many years. We sketched on Beekman Avenue in Tarrytown and that is where I gained an appreciation for working en plein aire.

I have also taken classes at SUNY Purchase and Wesleyan University.

I have studied at the Ridgefield Guild of Artists with Jock MacCrae for many years; also with Sam Morrow, who frequently conducted classes outside in nature.

I am a member of the Artist’s Collective at Weir Farm National Historic Park, and have exhibited work inspired by the Park at the Wilton Library and the Kershner Gallery in Fairfield, CT.

More recently I have been working with ink and paper. Tony Kirk is a master printer, and I am privileged to work with him.
