Artist’s Bio:
I was born in Brooklyn, NY, and discovered clay at the young age of 16. Since then, I’ve been working with it for over 50 years. With determination and passion, I’ve continued to seek out knowledge, studying at places like Alfred University, Penland School of Crafts, and many smaller pottery studios along the way.
In 1994, while deepening my own relationship with clay, I co-founded Clayworks on Columbia in Brooklyn, a studio and clay school. There, I taught classes and continued exploring the material that has shaped so much of my life.
In 2000, I moved to the Hudson Valley and set up my own studio. I also became an associate member at Clay Art Center in Port Chester, NY. In 2014, with the help of a friend, I built a gas kiln at my studio, where I now work and fire my pieces.
My passion for clay is something I carry into both my personal practice and my teaching. I live and work on a small lake with my husband, continually inspired by the ever-changing wildlife and natural surroundings that are part of my daily life.
