Description
53rd Annual Mark Twain Library Art Show
Artist’s Bio:
Melinda moved from Southern California to Connecticut 13 years ago to manage architectural design for a hedge fund who was building a new headquarters. A couple of years later, she decided to leave the corporate world to pursue her dream of working on her art full time. She started out designing jewelry but transitioned into creating works of collage on glass. In her collage work, she treats glass as a canvas, telling visual stories that incorporate themes from architecture, natural history, and Baroque aesthetics. Melinda’s collages are lush with detail and symbolism, set against backdrops of beautiful handmade decorative papers. Her work has been shown in various galleries and shops across the United States. When she is not working in her studio, she can be found playing piano or working in her gardens.
