Artist’s Bio:
Clarice M Shirvell, an award-winning Ridgefield, CT artist, of Argentine decent, is known for her pen and ink drawings and paintings inspired by nature. With a B.A. in Studio Art and Business from Marymount College, she sketches and paints plein air as mediation. Her work appears in private and public collections and over 50 exhibitions in museums and galleries. She has been selected for national shows by distinguished jurors such as the curators of The Whitney NYC, Guggenheim Museum, NYC, The Aldrich Museum, CT, Florence Griswold Museum in CT. She was the 2020 Artist in Residence at the Ridgefield Guild of Artists and won the 2022 Artful Grant, each residency ended with a solo show. Clarice illustrates children’s books, accepts commissions, works on her next series for exhibition, curates shows, and teaches “The Artist Way” and painting workshops from her Ridgefield studio.
Clarice is a signature member of National Association of Women Artists in NYC located at Gramercy Park. She is a member of the Greenwich Art Society, Ridgefield Guild of Artists, and an exhibiting member at Rowayton Arts. She is a NYC Urban sketcher and a Fairfield County plein air painter.
