Born in England to an Irish mother and English father, Tricia has a lifelong connection to southwest Ireland. Her mother returned to Ireland in the early 1990s, and after she passed away Tricia purchased a cottage there where she lives several months each year. Her US home and art studio are in Connecticut, and she exhibits her work throughout the US. Her artworks are held in public and private collections in Europe, the US and Africa. Recent achievements include her 2024 solo exhibition, Tricia Wright: The Naturalist, at Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts (2024), which traveled to the Zuckerman Museum of Art (Georgia) in 2025 and is currently on view until January 5, 2026. In 2019 she was awarded a Public Art Commission by the New York Metropolitan Transit Authority to create large scale permanent art installations at Crestwood Railway Station, New York. In 2019 she was also Artist in Residence at the renowned Dieu Donné papermaking studios, in Brooklyn, NY.
Tricia received her art training in the UK and has considerable experience as an art educator in the US. Working for the National Trust for Historic Preservation she designed public art tours at iconic historic and Modernist sites in Connecticut and in New York. She worked as an art educator at landmark contemporary art institutions in New York and designed private tours of NYC museums and galleries. She has a background in publishing in the UK and has contributed to numerous art publications; among her authored works is American Art & Artists, published by Harper Collins in association with the Smithsonian Institute.
